The weather ‘round these parts lately has been…not great. Fall for summer, winter for fall (so far). With the exception of a few nice days, I feel like I’ve been having the same conversation with our receptionist every single day since June. She goes “How is it out there?” and then I go “ugh, not great” and she goes “Still cold and rainy, huh?” and then it’s my turn to say “I just wish the sun would come out.”
(I hate being that person in the office who only small talks about the weather. But she always starts it!)
To say it’s been affecting my mood would be an understatement. So this weekend, when we got a little bit of sun poking through the permacloud, I grabbed my camera and went for a walk by the lake. For my sanity. And in the middle of the gray, gray midwest I found this tree. With berries so orange against the purple/blue sky they made everything a little bit better.
(I still could do with a bit of a vacation. Preferably to somewhere full of color. Does anyone want to go to India?)
